About Gareth

You work with me not a team in the background.

There are no outsourced developers, no junior bench and no offshore production studio. Design, build, hosting and search are my own work. You speak to Gareth; Gareth does the work.

How I work

Industry access, without the agency price

My day-to-day role at The Telegraph plugs me into the wider digital industry — the same conversations with the biggest brands, agencies and technology vendors that a large agency would charge a premium to sit in. I bring that knowledge back to local businesses at a price they can actually live with.

Commitments

  • I do not subcontract your website.
  • There is no hidden production team in another country.
  • I set up hosting.
  • If it is on your site, I put it there.

That blend is the point: a senior digital job inside a national news brand, meeting vendors such as Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe and the agencies that serve the largest advertisers — then a one-person practice that uses the same tools and judgement for trades, pubs and holiday lets across London and the South-East.

Platforms and vendors in the day job include

  • Google
  • Meta
  • Amazon
  • Microsoft
  • Akamai
  • The Telegraph
  • Adobe
  • Apple
  • YouTube
  • All my own work

No outsourced developers, no white-label agency, no account manager who never opens the files. Brief, design, build and care sit with me.

  • A seat at the industry table

The Telegraph role means regular contact with the biggest brands, agencies and platforms. That is how the tools, the ads stack and the search changes actually look — not a course from three years ago.

  • Cost-effective for local businesses

You are not paying for a Soho office or a bench of juniors. You get senior judgement and a finished site, at a small-business price.

Industry insights at the AOP

The Association of Online Publishers is the UK industry body for digital publishers — newsbrands, magazines, broadcasters and digital-only titles. Formed in 2002, it exists to champion original content and keep publishers in the same conversations as each other and the platforms.

AOP Crunch is their working series: short, practical sessions where publisher members and industry partners compare notes on live issues — traffic, advertising, AI and audience — rather than sitting through a stage show.
